The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) was held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20. At the conference, CSHI officially launched two new robots for shipbuilding and offshore engineering, and exhibited a demonstration project for its Ship Digital Delivery System.

Intelligent Hull-Bottom Coating Robot

This is China’s first flexible integrated solution for the anti-corrosion coating of ship hull bottoms to be put into practical application.

The robot adopts an integrated explosion-proof body that allows it to move freely in complex dock environments. Equipped with 3D vision and LiDAR perception systems, it can accurately identify the curved structures of a ship’s hull bottom and autonomously complete the entire process of 3D modeling, coating area division, and motion path planning.

The robot also incorporates VOC adsorption and paint mist capture devices to control pollution at the source. Its overall coating efficiency is increased by 60%, while paint consumption is reduced by more than 30%.

Intelligent Quadruped Ship Welding Robot

This is China’s first integrated architecture combining a quadruped biomimetic chassis, a six-axis robotic arm, and an intelligent welding end-effector.

It can autonomously cross obstacles and adapt its posture on slopes, enabling flexible movement and precise operation.

The robot is equipped with a six-degree-of-freedom articulated robotic arm. Its end-effector integrates a laser weld-seam tracking sensor unit.

Ship Digital Delivery System

This is China’s first Ship Digital Delivery System to receive full-system certification from CCS.

The system uses lightweight 3D models. It establishes an accurate digital twin mapping between the physical ship and its digital model.

Powered by artificial intelligence, the system is equipped with an AI-based multimodal intelligent search module that supports the intelligent retrieval of ship records and in-depth data analysis.
